Macie Strum

• Macie has traveled to more than 50 countries across Europe, Asia, North America, and Oceania, developing an expertise in Europe's lesser-traveled Balkan region.
• Since establishing a goal of visiting every country in Europe within her lifetime at just 14 years old, Macie's pursuit has since taken her to more than 35 countries across the continent.
• Macie's 8-month trip around Asia turned into 3 years of long-term travel, during which time she gained firsthand experience in solo backpacking, from finding the best hostels across the globe to navigating language barriers and border crossings.

Experience

With a deep love of history and geography, it was only natural that Macie would work in the travel industry. She began working as an independent travel agent in 2021, creating personalized itineraries for her clients. She also coordinated business travel and meetings for large events for a national nonprofit and helped a New Jersey-based hospitality company expand its luxury travel offerings. In addition to sharing her firsthand experiences and perspectives on her Substack, The Anxious Extrovert, her work has also appeared in Business Insider. Today, her writing focuses on the places, lessons, and experiences she took the most away from in her own travels, helping readers navigate their adventures with curiosity and intention.

Education

Macie earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Drexel University.
