This US Airport Is Now Home To United's Largest Airport Lounge In The World

If the Mile High City isn't already on your bucket list, now would be a good time to add it. United Airlines just opened its largest airport lounge in the world as part of a $1 billion investment at Denver International Airport. The 35,000-square-foot United Club is located near gate B44 in the B Concourse, featuring three levels and more than 600 seats.

To gain access to the lounge, passengers can use the self-scan entry gates. Once inside, you'll have access to high-speed WiFi, wellness rooms, and agent-on-demand kiosks for all your travel-related questions. Should you crave a snack before your flight, the lounge has an array of menu items with a local twist, like some oatmeal drizzled in Colorado honey, United's take on a Denver omelet, or a Colorado Club sandwich.

The lounge's warm color palette and mix of urban and rustic décor is reminiscent of a brewery, an intentional nod toward Denver's thriving local beer scene. Travelers can take a seat at the feature bar on the mezzanine level for a selection of 10 seasonal beers. Each brew on tap is sourced from a popular local brewery, including New Belgium, Great Divide, Denver Beer Company, and Upslope. The lounge's artwork, furnishings, and sculptures are sourced locally as well.

United's upcoming expansion

This lounge comes on the heels of another recent development, as of this writing, at Denver International Airport. During summer 2023, United opened a 24,000-square-foot lounge with 400 seats across two levels. Along with the usual amenities, the United Club is equipped with one of two bars, cozy fireplaces, a shuffleboard, and the distinct feeling of being inside a luxury ski resort — a design inspired by the nature-loving community of Denver and the Colorado Mountains. You can find the airport lounge in Concourse A near gate A26.

Travelers can gain access to the United Club by purchasing a business class ticket or upgrading to first class. You can also become eligible through the Star Alliance frequent flier program. Another option is to opt for an annual United Club membership or a one-time lounge pass for same-day access — both would make your flights much easier. Uniformed members of the U.S. military are always welcome as well.

With 90 gates and 12 more slated for development in 2024, United has the largest number of gates of any airline at the Denver airport. By 2025, the airline hopes to expand its total lounge space to 100,000 square feet to accommodate its growing number of premium passengers.
