Experience

Michael began his journalism career writing for high school and college newspapers. In 2018, he was named associate editor of the Jewish Journal, which covers the Jewish community north of Boston. In 2020, just as the pandemic revved into high gear, he accepted a position at Patch reporting the local news of Beverly Hills, Malibu, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, and Northridge, also known as their "rich and famous beat." He also contributed articles to The Beverly Hills Courier. At Patch, he has also reported on the local news of cities around the country, and nationwide and statewide stories, like surging gas prices and the Gabby Petito story. Two of his stories — features on travel and adventure, naturally — received Best of Patch Awards. He now reports the local news of the Tri-Valley, a collection of cities east of San Francisco.

Education

Michael received a bachelor's in sociology from Bard College, and master's in teaching French as a foreign language from New York University.
