  • As far back as she can remember, Ali has always been surrounded by books, and her love of reading and writing began at an early age.
  • Ali has traveled extensively across four continents and lived in South East Asia for three years.
  • She now lives in the North West of England and, at weekends, can typically be found exploring one of the nearby national parks or nature reserves with her two boys and dog.

Experience

Ali has previously worked as a writer and content manager for two travel brands and has taught English abroad and at home. Journalist, teacher, copywriter, published author, and poet – Ali's varied career paths have one major thing in common: her love of the written word. Now, as the mum of two active boys and a PhD candidate, she combines family life, research, and writing about her passions: nature, travel, and parenting. She is also currently working on her debut short story collection.

Education

Ali holds a First Class Honours degree in English Literature from Durham University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Keele. She is now studying for a PhD in Creative Writing at Keele, and her research focuses on how writers react to crisis.
