A New Yellowstone Journey Opening In 2027 Lets Visitors Explore With Fewer Crowds

The United States is full of must-visit national parks that every outdoor enthusiast should add to their bucket list. Yellowstone National Park, located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, is one of the most iconic. It's totally possible to explore Yellowstone on your own, but if you're looking for a stress-free experience without a ton of planning, the tour company Tauck just announced in a press release that it will be adding a Yellowstone trip to its offerings in 2027.

Tauck is a luxury tour company that has been in business for more than 100 years. Throughout that time, the company has taken thousands of people to destinations all over the world. Currently, Tauck has around 170 different tour offerings and operates adventures on all seven continents.

The new Tauck tour in Yellowstone National Park is called "Yellowstone Awakens" and trips will be offered in the spring and fall of 2027. According to the company, the tour will include lodging within the park, "exclusive access," and other unique experiences. If you're looking for a way to experience the park's rugged natural beauty with fewer crowds on a luxurious tour, Tauck's guided trip may be the perfect choice.

Experience Yellowstone's highlights without having to plan a thing

Planning a vacation to a national park can require serious preparation and logistics. National parks in the United States are some of the last wild places remaining in the country, and Yellowstone is a particularly rugged destination. It covers over 2 million acres of land, mostly in Wyoming but also in parts of Montana and Idaho. Established in 1872, Yellowstone was the first national park in the world. There's a lot to explore, and if you don't want to spend hours researching the best places to stay, proper safety precautions, and what to do there, then booking a guided experience could be a great option.

Tauck's "Yellowstone Awakens" journey will be offered in the spring and the fall, which happen to be two of the best times of year to visit Yellowstone National Park. Tauck chose those seasons because that's when wildlife tends to be the most active, which will give guests the best opportunity to see the majestic animals that the park is famous for. "Spring departures bring wildflowers and newborn wildlife; fall reveals elk in rut, mountain goats at lower elevations and the golden tones of changing foliage," Tauck's press release explains. As an added bonus, the park tends to have fewer tourists during the spring and fall.

In addition to wildlife viewing, people who sign up for the journey will have the opportunity to enjoy "behind-the-scenes cultural and wildlife experiences," like an exclusive trip to the Yellowstone Heritage and Research Center. Other activities, like workshops with Indigenous artists, will also be included.

The journey with Tauck

The "Yellowstone Awakening" journey will last five nights. Guests will be offered lodging in Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel & Cabins, which is centrally located within Yellowstone National Park. The lodge is managed by the National Park Service. It's a historic property that dates back to 1936, and recently underwent an extensive $30 million renovation. It has a prime location close to Fort Yellowstone, the village of Mammoth, and plenty of hiking trails.

The trip includes two safaris that will each last for an entire morning. Guests will be taken through Lamar Valley on safari vehicles and will be accompanied by naturalist guides throughout the experiences. The journeys will be offered in May, October, and November.

The cost of the "Yellowstone Awakening" trip will start at around $4,790 per person, based on a double occupancy room. Attendees are required to pay for their own airfare. Although there are definitely more budget-friendly ways to do Yellowstone National Park, this guided tour is a wonderful new option for travelers who are willing to splurge on a top-notch experience.
