This Massive, Family-Friendly New Mexico Pumpkin Patch Is A Must-Visit Fall Attraction

Hunting for the perfect autumn activity to warm the soul feels just like a piping hot mug of apple cider. Charlie Brown and friends (Linus especially) would be ecstatic to know that under an hour from Albuquerque, New Mexico, sits a place where the mythical Great Pumpkin might just exist. However, unlike Linus, if the Great Pumpkin isn't what you're after, then perhaps one of the hundreds of other gourds set amidst the 50 acres of pumpkin farmland would suffice. Located in Moriarty, McCall's Pumpkin Patch is a spectacular locale with not only 50 acres of pumpkin patch to explore, but over 60 activities to partake in as well, setting the stage for the perfect fall-filled weekend adventure at one of the best pumpkin patches in the U.S.

Owned and run by New Mexico's own McCall family, this patch has been delighting visitors since its opening in 1996. In an interview with New Mexico Magazine, co-owner Kirsten McCall said about the farm, "If you're going to do it, you might as well go all in." With that mentality, the family has been able to endure the hardships pressed upon farmers and small businesses and continue to bring in over 100,000 annual visitors to enjoy the splendors of autumn fun. Whether you're coming to the farm for some fun fall snacks, endless hours of family fun, or to simply revel in the joys that autumn brings, the McCall farm has a little something for everyone.

Experience fall fun at McCall's Farm

On the farm, there is no shortage of activities crafted for the perfect family trip. McCall's offers kid-friendly rides on the Pumpkin Express, a 15-acre corn maze, a ropes course, hayrides, a chicken piano (perhaps its most unique feature), a petting zoo, duck races, apple cannons, and so much more. Most of the activities are included with the price of admission, however, some (like the train ride, petting zoo, and apple cannons) require a punch card. Purchase of the card also gets you some sweet treats to munch on while you explore the farm.

For adults on the hunt for some fun fall activities, not to fear (at least, not yet anyways). The farm is not only a delightful retreat for families looking to have a fun-filled day, but those seeking out a good old-fashioned scare. Fright Find has called McCall's Haunted Farm New Mexico's number one spot for the creepiest, most spine-chilling Halloween experience.

The haunted farm features two spooky experiences for the price of one: the haunted barn and the haunted corn field. The terrifying area also includes a creepy clown maze (no thank you), mechanical bull rides, a zombie shooting gallery, and "carnevil" games. The haunted experience is every Friday and Saturday night from October 10 through November 1, and tickets to the haunt can be purchased online by choosing a time slot. It's arguably one of the most iconic Halloween events in America. So, if you're looking for a date idea that might be your last, consider McCall's Haunted Farm — but don't say we didn't warn you. McCall's Farm is not only the perfect spot for family fun, but a great spooky destination to celebrate Halloween.
