This Romantic Destination Is Perfect For A Luxurious Valentine's Day In The Midwest

Located in Canton in northeastern Ohio, Gervasi Vineyard is a 55-acre former tree farm. Yes, they make wine and even their own liquor, but the property also features a resort, spa, Tuscan-style architecture, lakeside views, walking trails, and offers a cozy, secluded feel.

In other words, it's one of the best romantic getaways in the Midwest and a go-to destination for Valentine's Day. There is an array of exciting activities for couples. For wine lovers, Gervasi Vineyard runs regular wine and spirit-tasting tours that take about 45 minutes and are served with perfectly paired light snacks.

For the couple that wants to relax, the spa has two all-inclusive package options: the Couple's Journey and the Couple's Retreat. The former is 3.5 hours, and, at the time of this publication, prices range from $875 to $975. It includes two treatments per person, and access to additional features like a chromotherapy air bath and warmed neck wrap. The latter is 2.5 hours and is similar to the Couple's Journey but only includes one treatment, with prices ranging from $525 to $625. You can book either package online. But of course, a wine tour and a spa day would not be complete without a good meal.

Dine at Gervasi Vineyard's award-winning eateries

Gervasi Vineyard has it all, including onsite eateries. This includes the Crush House, the Still House, and the Bistro, all of which have received local distinctions. Simply put, the food will wow that special someone. The industrial-style Crush House serves lunch and dinner, and menu items range from Formaggio chicken linguine to New York strip steak. In addition, they offer upscale signature cocktails like the "Blush Lush" martini made with Gervasi Vineyard's Sinner Blush rosé vodka. On Valentine's Day 2024, the Crush House will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

For live entertainment in an intimate setting, head to the Still House. The distillery has a casual cafe-like ambiance and serves lunch and light all-day breakfast treats like quiche Lorraine. Other menu items include Chipotle pulled pork tacos and a Greek flatbread. Coffee, specialty cocktails, and other alcoholic drinks like tequila and bourbon are also available. The Still House will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Valentine's Day with live performances from 7 p.m. until closing.

Perhaps the most romantic dining option at Gervasi Vineyard is the Bistro. Housed in a restored 19th-century barn, the Bistro dishes Italian cuisine including pasta, pizza, and steak. The Tuscan beef short ribs (seen in the TikTok above) are a highlight, and feature mashed potatoes and carrots in a mushroom veal sauce. The Bistro will be open from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Valentine's Day.

Woo your significant other with a stay at Gervasi Vineyard

Perhaps an unexpected destination, Ohio is a great place for a romantic winter couples getaway, and Gervasi Vineyard's wine tours, spa, and dining options are ideal for Valentine's Day. You can squeeze in an activity and a meal in one day. However, for the ultimate experience, book a room at the resort. Gervasi Vineyard has three lodging options, including several villas, suites in the Casa (seen above), and the Farmhouse — an actual heritage home from the 1800s.

The villas are rustic but uber-luxurious, featuring heated floors and an indoor fireplace in each suite. Guests can choose from different-sized luxury suites within these villas, including a two-story king suite. The Casa, on the other hand, has a more contemporary interior and offers lakeside views. Prices for both styles of accommodation start at $259 per night. Regardless of which area of the resort you choose for your stay, bookings include complimentary breakfast served between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. You can book a room online.

If you stay at Gervasi Vineyard for Valentine's Day or any other special occasion, you can surprise your loved one with flowers, wine, and treats. For example, for $88, you can purchase the Celebrate Life Package, which includes balloons, prosecco, and desserts.
