The Most Affordable Multi-Mountain Ski Pass Ever Sold Is Making Its Debut This Season

The snow sports season is just around the corner. As we eagerly await the first few substantial storms and try our best to leave our gear untouched in storage, most of us are also realizing that we should be looking into the latest season pass options.

For those of us that didn't snag a great deal on a pass at the end of last season, there's still hope for saving big while still seeing a bunch of different slopes. The new Intrawest Passport is a novel concept that could mean major savings across six major North American mountains.

There are a few features that set this pass apart from the rest. Perhaps most notable—with the purchase of a single adult pass (which must be purchased before getting all other passes), up to five kids ages 12-and-under can ski completely free. Another aspect that makes the pass different is that up to 16 people can reap major discounts as one family. The term family, in this case, can apply to relatives or friends, allowing a great deal of flexibility.

The pass offers six days of skiing or boarding at six North American Mountains, which is a total of 36 days on the snow. There are absolutely no blackout dates—an extremely important fact for those with less-than-flexible schedules—that means pass holders can travel and use the pass over holidays.

The six participating resorts are Steamboat and Winter Park in Colorado, Blue Mountain in Ontario, Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Stratton Mountain in Vermont and Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia.

How it Works
An adult in the group must purchase the "primary adult passport" (for $589) in order to get any of the other passes. Then there is the option to add up to five additional adults ($449 per adult), up to five additional teenagers ($249 per teen) and up to five kids (for free), for a total of 16 passes.

Under this plan, a single adult could buy a season pass for his or herself and then get free season passes for up to five kids, all for just $589.

The Intrawest Passport is available now, guaranteed at the current price until October 20. The pass will be sold until November 15, you can find it here or at any of the resort's websites.
