Katie has been a professional writer for more than two decades. She began her journalism career as a researcher at The Times of London and began freelance writing in 2002, specializing in travel, parenting, lifestyle and food topics. Her work has appeared in Wanderlust, Matador Network, Today.com, Coastal Style, Luxe Recess and Chesapeake Family Life. Her fiction has twice been nominated for the Best New American Voices series.

Katie has a master's degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree in English from Dickinson College.
