Adventure Travel Tip: Save On Safaris

"Dreaming of a Big 5 African safari but don't want to spend your entire kid's inheritance to make it happen? Consider traveling in the off season—often called the "green season" in Africa. In Botswana, for instance, you can save 20-30% or more by traveling between November and mid-April (holidays excluded). Many safari outfitters drop prices dramatically and offer additional savings for stays combining several safari camps. What is the trade off? Okay, it can be hotter (that's what plunge pools are for!), and the game can be a bit more challenging to find (but it is still there!), but with fewer other travelers, beautifully green backdrops for your photos, lots of baby animals scampering around and huge savings, it's a great time to go!"
