Get The Gear! Women's Powder Skis
Remember 2009? Seems like a long time ago, doesn't it? The Cove came out. Lance and Alberto Contador battled for leadership of Team Astana and, eventually, for the Tour de France win (Contador got it). Tyler Bradt plunged his kayak over Washington's 189-foot Palouse Falls, setting a world record. Oh, and Dynastar made a ripping pair of women's powder skis with an egregiously long name: Dynastar Exclusive Legend Powders.
Nothing much has changed about these skis since SKI Magazine called them "effortless, stable, light, energetic, versatile...(they) danced through crud, soared in pow and ripped the groomed." Except, of course, the price. Right now, you can get perfectly good, brand-new 2009s for less than 10 percent of retail. Be warned: These skis have fairly straight sidecuts that favor big, sweeping turns in deep powder, so they're harder to whip around on hardpack and groomers. But at this price, it's worth your buck to add a sweet big-mountain ski to your winter arsenal.
