Travel The World's Whitewater In 25 Days

Twenty-five days. Six continents. Nine rivers. One legendary rafting guide. A lifetime of memories.

That's what Mountain Travel Sobek is promising with its new whitewater adventure trip. The wet dream of any adrenaline junkie, the trip is led by Mountain Travel Sobek co-founder and river-guide legend John Yost and takes a group of just 8 to 12 down Class III and IV rapids in California, Ecuador, Spain, Kenya, India and Australia.

Famed rivers will be run, including the Athi River with African wildlife galore, the Noguera Pallaresa in the beauty of the high Pyrenees and a chance at the North Johnstone in Australia's pristine North Queensland World Heritage Rainforest, which includes an eyes-frozen-open-because-you-don't-want-to-blink view of the inside of a volcanic gorge.

As of now, there's only one trip scheduled, leaving in May. The whole package rings up at what feels like a measly $8,695—until you realize that airfare isn't included. But for, as the company advertises, a trip that's "more than the experience of a lifetime—it's a lifetime of experiences," the tab doesn't seem like too big an issue (consider that a week in the Grand can set you back $2,500).
