Top All-Mountain Skis 2013: Völkl Aura
VÖLKL AURA
It's kind of girly looking, but make no mistake, the Aura is for hard-charging girls with a real need for speed. It's incredibly versatile, too, with a rockered tip to float and a traditional flat tail for power and stability, even in the crud. This precision carver is perfect for taking on trees and bumps, but beware its grippiness if you need to bail. A lightweight wood core with titanium layers gives it that signature Völkl smoothness and stability. It's no wonder this sweet little ski—a Gold Medal Gear winner—scored highest overall in SKI's tests.
Best For: Speedy runs in all conditions, especially in places—glades, moguls, steeps—where precision is the difference between bomber and Bono.
