Cocoa Beach offers six miles of beach, numerous oceanfront parks and playgrounds, golf, a massive public pool, a skate park, public tennis courts, public transportation, plenty of hotels, and close proximity to NASA's Kennedy Space Center. There are also art festivals, garage sales, food festivals, and more!

Siesta Key Beach is a family-friendly alternative to some of the beaches in the area that tend to attract college students and young adults, with a plethora of parks and playgrounds, restaurants, museums, and shops. The city also boasts the Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, which is focused on protecting marine life.

Manatee Beach has a number of picnic areas with grills, but also has local restaurants and concession stands. There’s a free trolley that takes you to the center of the beach, or there’s ample parking — and there’s numerous attractions nearby in case you need a few hours out of the waves.

St. Augustine Beach is great for families with young children, primarily because the waves are often calmer than most, but you can surf and paddle board. Family-friendly accommodations line the coast, there are bike rentals up and down the shoreline, and you can go fishing from St. Johns County Ocean Pier.

Fort De Soto Park is more than a beach — the state park has five islands and 1,136 acres that comprise the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay — and a fort from the Spanish-American War to explore! Not only are dogs allowed on the beach (leashed and unleashed in designated areas), but there are even dog showers, and they’re allowed throughout the park if on a leash.
