Camp With Incredible Ocean Views At This California Beach
By LESLIE VELIZ
Santa Barbara County, California, is famed for its coastal views and laid-back vibes. The quaint region comprises eight cities, including Lompoc, which has a great camping spot.
The secluded park, called Jalama Beach, is 30 minutes from the city, with sweeping ocean views and coastal bluffs, and is perfect for those with tents, trailers, and RVs.
Jalama Beach has typical amenities, like showers, restrooms, picnic tables, a playground, and BBQ pits. Dogs are allowed on a leash, and quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
There are various activities like swimming, surfing, fishing, or birdwatching. Delicious meals can be found at the Jalama Beach Store, and free beach wheelchairs are available.
There are 107 campsites, 31 of which have electrical hookups, and a dump station is available. Rates range from $35 to $55 a night, and eight people are allowed per campsite.
Abalone Point and Starfish Cove are for larger groups of 20 to 32 people, costing between $275 to $300. Reservations are required for all camping, but they do allow walk-ins.
Seven rustic-style cabins are available for four people, with a kitchen, bathroom, TV, and air conditioning. Prices range from $200 to $250 per night, with a minimum of two nights.
