Space Dive: Baumgartner Does It!

After seemingly endless delays, "Fearless Felix" Baumgartner did it on Sunday.  The Austrian adventurer rose 128,100 feet to the edge of space in a helium filled balloon over New Mexico, then dove to the earth, hitting supersonic speeds before successfully landing.  Baumgartner flew higher than anyone ever had in a helium balloon, broke the record for the highest jump ever, and hit a top speed of 833.9 mph, or Mach 1.24, on the descent.

Afterwards, Baumgartner said he struggled the whole way down to achieve the aerodynamic balance that allowed him to reach his unprecedented speed.
