Fly With Captain Marvel On Superhero-Themed Alaska Airlines Plane

Captain Marvel is an ex-U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, so she's comfortable around planes. Now the Marvel Comics character is featured on an Alaska Airlines 737-800, currently flying through the airline's route network. And her cat is along for the ride.

"This new plane featuring Captain Marvel will delight guests of all ages," Natalie Bowman, Alaska Airlines' managing director of marketing and advertising, said in a statement. "We're excited to showcase a pilot who's risen to superhero status –– an image that embodies strength and confidence and inspires future aviators across our expansive network to go further."

The plane design is pretty super. Captain Marvel (aka Carol Danvers, who is portrayed in the new film by actress Brie Larson) is seen streaking across the side of the plane, wearing her red, blue and gold costume, blond hair flying.

The Captain is not alone. Her orange cat, Goose, also appears on the plane's wing. (No spoilers, but let's just say Goose is no ordinary feline.) Meowza!

"Our collaboration with Alaska Airlines is taking our fans 'Higher, Further, Faster' with this amazing opportunity to fly with our fearless superhero and pilot, Captain Marvel," Mindy Hamilton of Marvel said in a statement. ("Higher, Further, Faster" was the name of one of the Captain's comic-book arcs, and the slogan is one of the upcoming film's taglines.) "We are so excited that our fans will be accompanied by Carol Danvers on their next adventure."

The Captain Marvel movie, starring Larson along with Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law and Ben Mendelsohn, opens March 8.

Even the biggest comics fan can't guarantee themselves a ride on the Captain's plane, but Alaska Airlines reports that the plane will fly cross-country routes and even visit Hawaii. If you're planning a trip any time soon, check out 12 secrets for getting the most comfortable airline seat.
