Alta Ski Area Gets Its Own Beer
The Alta Ski Area in Utah's Little Cottonwood Canyon knows how to celebrate. To honor their 75th year in business, the Alta management figured out the best way to celebrate: A custom-made brew.
Wasatch Brewery, founded in 1986 in Park City, helped make it happen. Founder Greg Schirf joined up with the Alta crew last summer to bring the brew to life.
Over several months, Wasatch and Alta worked together to develop the taste profile, using other beers as a reference point. They describe their new beer as a pale ale with a deep, caramel color and a piney-floral aroma with undertones of citrus.
The design on the six pack features professional big-mountain free skier and Salt Lake City, UT-native Jen Berg on the slopes at Alta.
The beer will be available at storefronts around Wasatch Brewery throughout the season.
