The Surfboard Bag You Can Sleep In

Start-up UK company Cave Sports is fielding a creative new product designed for surfers on the go. The WaveCave delivers board storage for up to three boards, depending on which model you choose, plus a portable shelter—all in one convenient package.

Surfers are accustomed to travelling to far-flung places to in search of the best breaks, which often involves air travel. The extra-padded WaveCave is designed to keep your board—or boards—safe from merciless baggage handlers, and when it's time to set up camp, it easily deploys into a mobile HQ. And as any good dirtbag knows—this thing will hold far more than just a couple surfboards. Stuff extra in clothes, towels and your wetsuit in for even more security.

The product won a Summer Harware award in the ISPO BraneNew design competition, earning high marks from the judges for its sturdy construction and ease-of-use. BackpackerBanter.com gave it a big thumbs up, too.

The WaveCave comes in three differnet configurations to fit boards from 6'8" to 7'8", and sells for between $250 and $300, depending on options. Find out more at WaveCaveSurf.com.
